Empty and Spaces

Places that feel strange, yet familiar
Wind in the spaces between my fingers-
Can I claim this air clutched in my palm as mine?
Buildings with some bricks missing-
Eyes and cameras with filters peep in
It’s beachy, blushy cheeks in the cold of winter.
I paint flowers on an unbalanced pot-
One with a red snail and one with the sun
White clouds float with the aim of filling empty spaces.
Unknown faces crowd my mind through a known screen;
I am blue in this ocean of information
A fish and fisherman at the same time.
Patience eats my mind and time,
A thought sits with me at nine
Can I be mad enough to believe this world exists only for me?
Demons exhale doubt at my sticky neck-
Even if I don’t see the sun
Even if I never see air
I feel it on my skin-
Existence is a personal experience.
In the chaos of everyday, I hang a string of warm fairy lights
And rest in its glow for the night.

Through my lips as I

Spill a word after a word.

I slip drips of water down

My throat. This heat is suffocating.

People read me as they

Wish to see me, feel me.

No one remembers history-

Just glimpses of a past they wish to believe in.

White snow- white bones

Melt under this unrelenting heat.

Lovers do not believe in structures of

White bones- White skinned

Economies of demand, supply

Give me your love-

But you won’t, you see.

You read me as you see me

Or maybe you don’t read me at all.

A closed page to your dyslexic eyes-

I will paint a dream to you.

June

There’s someone at the door.
No, it is not my sister. She will come 36 hours later.
It is June. With 5 bags and a pink frolic purse.
The month of Summer.
I hope it is. Otherwise every day the sky is a grey looming over creatures.
June does not let me help it with its baggage. It is surprisingly in great shape.
A round bag that contains a rock called Career. It forever keeps rolling to hit, well. Rock bottom.
A bag full of thread mess. It is best to carry thoughts just like that. Maybe a cat will take fancy to it.
A cube bag. Eerily symmetrical. It is the need to organize. Nothing crosses the borders.
A shapeless bag full of water. I can cry and multitask these days. Or not cry at all.
A regular bag, with a handle and wheels. Because of course, normalcy never flees.
My room is crowded. Sigh.

June opens its pink purse and offers me the best thing ever.
A flower.
