One and a half

I can live with half a heart

I feel

Lifting the other half

Into your trembling chest

One and a half heart

Beat in tandem

My half heart shivers in cold

Blood rushes in where I had once been whole

I bleed and bleed

Fingertips cold and blue

I kiss you goodbye

Warm jacket and a blanket

In my bag that will fly with me

Miles away.

A truth, a lie

It’s funny how days

Are not days anymore

But tired hopeless hours

Piled on each other

Faces, are not faces anymore

But expressions of the same

Thought unsaid.

Eyes wander through and to

Colours of humans and one blue

Hands of the dead undead

Deep in my chest

Burst through, branching

Towards the ultimate good.

I have exhausted myself

I don’t feel myself

In this jungle

Of multi-faceted friends

I still, try and try

Because I believe

All actions come back to me

A truth, a lie.

Little smile

I tread carefully

On this alien land

People are people

It took some time

For me to realise

Who am I?

I ask this

A thousand times

Who is who?

Who is true?

Faces with misleading eyes

It is a strange world

With stranger minds

I walk through it

With a little smile

For my own.

My limbs have grown

My skin has stretched

My bones are still the same

Mumma says

My eyes, they still give me away.
