9:45 AM to 6:10 PM

I wonder how buildings stand so tall and proud.
I can feel my neck and spine change shape throughout the day
A question mark?
An exclamation point!
A full stop.
(I curl into myself for some psychological warmth)
The cold ACs talk nonstop, their voice has become familiar
Plants in this office are more alive than people
As my friend 6 states away says- this world feels 2D.
And I am a walking 2 line drawing put together-
Eyes bigger than my head
Head bigger than my legs
Hands two needle sticks by the side-
Fit for typing and meticulous washing.
(It is the only body part I can truly control).

Wine

Circumference and diameters of wine
Maybe volume, yes.
2/5th in me,
Rest in bodies that never felt like mine.
Lips red taste of red and
Dark chocolate.
No need for a lipstick tonight.
Hours of the past melt away
Burning in a middle night.
Cyclones of solitude dance on my head-
I am an atmosphere in whole.
Light breaks through and I catch the first glimpse of that sun
Peeking.
Maybe I need darker curtains for some restful sleep.

Shrinking

My world is shrinking.
It is no more untidy, but freshly painted
Cream walls.
My sleep is shrinking.
Dreams no more of the seas but a blank pair of eyes
And a swimming cloud in the sky.
My hunger is shrinking.
Strive to live for myself and do so much more
Beyond the hours that give me sustenance and a career
(What is a career but a useless ladder that I must climb).

My eyes are shrinking in sleep
Exhaustion collectes in pools that just doesn’t seem to end.
I am tired, no brainer there
But my ability to hold the world within myself is shrinking.
I’m hollow without the ability to fly.

Worm

I wake up in a new house each day
New bed
New pillow
There is a sprain in my neck
Ouch.
A strange colour near me
A reptile that hides its skin.
I almost touch it ten times.
An extra toe, an extra bone stick out
From my two feet.
I don’t know what to do with this new small limb.
I wouldn’t mind an extra mind
Or a brain the size of a drum.
A pea sized penny sits on my shoulders for now.
There’s new skin growing-
Purple and pink on branches.
I’m green with jealously.
A worm that won’t move
Slither or stare- just
Suspend at an angle.

I have no bones or spine to worry about any more.
